Day 1 : Arrival – Arusha
Jambo! Upon arrival at the Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met and transferred to lodge for overnight by our representative.

Nestled between the peaks of Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru Game Lodge & Sanctuary lies midway between Kilimanjaro International Airport and Arusha. The lodge is located within 33 acres of mature, well-manicured gardens bounded on one side by the tranquil waters of the Usa River and on the other by the Sanctuary where our wildlife and birdlife reside. This wildlife and birdlife provide many of our guests with their first exciting game viewing experience.

The Tarangire River runs through the center of the park and provides a year-round supply of water to the animals. Bird watching is exceptional in the park's diverse habitats, from palm groves to acacia woodlands, and you may spot a bateleur or martial eagle during your stay. Acacia woodland shelters the park’s famous tree climbing lions, lying languidly among the branches in the heat of the day.  Lake Manyara safaris offers many unique views including elephant, giraffe, buffalo and wildebeest can be found grazing in unexpected clearings or heading towards the water to drink or wash, and the rivers and riverbeds provide scenic vistas for possible animal spotting. Warthog seem to thrive here, growing notably fat and tuskered, and it is a natural playground for baboons and monkeys.
